Would you work 14 hours a day, but get paid very low wages to help out your family? Cesar Chavez was someone who stood up for farm worker’s rights. Cesar’s historical importance is him working his hardest to successfully changing from worker’ right.
Cesar Chavez had a very rough childhood. He was born on March 31, 1927, in Yuma, Arizona. In 1939, Cesar and his family was forced out of their farm because of unable to earn enough money. He dropped out of school in the 8th grade. Cesar worked 14 hours a day, getting paid very little.
Cesar Chavez’s adult life was full of events. Cesar joined the Navy during World War ll. After the war, he returned to his farming life. He had a “walk out” to protest the low wages that were getting paid. In 1948, Cesar married Helen Fabela and moved to a migrant building in Delano, California.
Cesar achieved many great goals and accomplishments in his life. He was awarded the Medal of Freedom in 1994. During 1950’s, Cesar became president of C.S.O (Community Service Organization).
This person was a very important person to farmers. He’s important because he fought for the freedom and rights of farm workers.

Do you know who Cesar Chavez is? He is a American hero. He is a American hero because he made farm worker’s pay higher. Being a farm worker was dangerous and pay was little so he helped.
Cesar Chavez had a cruel life when he was little. Cesar Chavez got punished for speaking Spanish in school, he quit school at 8th grade, and he and his brother attended 37 schools because of migration. His dad was a farm worker so they had to migrate. Even though he had a cruel life, he joined the Navy during World War II.
But he had an interesting life at adult age. I will start with when he was finished doing the War. He made the National Farm Workers Association,(NFWA), and had 8 kids with his wife named Helen Fabela. He fought for the farm workers doing fasts for weeks or days until he was jailed for not obeying a court order. When he was finally at home, and years passed he was jailed again because he sat in a white’s only theater. He died years later but got the Medal of Freedom, America’s highest civilian honor. But since Cesar Chavez died they gave it to Helen Fabela, Cesar Chavez’s wife.
Cesar Chavez had many accomplishments from childhood to death like: Cesar building the NFWA, Cesar obtaining the Medal of Freedom, and doing many fasts for farm workers pay.
So you know who Cesar Chavez is now. He’s helped many people but especially farm workers. If you’re a farm worker, you should respect him because he risked his life for you.
The life of Cesar Chaves
Cesar Chaves hated school, because the schools in California forbidden Spanish. That’s all cesar spoke. Cesar was a migrant worker, born on march 31, 1927. Lived with his parents and siblings on a farm in Yuma, Arizona. He was a gifted man who inspired everyone around him. After 2 years before he was born, the country entered a great depression.
So in 1939 because of the great depression, cesar and his family moved to California, cause of not earning enough money. Due to the migrant work, he and his brother, Richard, attended thirty-seven schools.
When became an adult, he then joined the navy during world war II. After war he then returned to his migrant camps. Then he thought mostly about racism.
Cesar now only thinking about racism, he had a gift on expiring those around him. So got better and better on organizing people. So for thirty years, cesar lead the first farm workers union in America histort.
So born on march 31, 1927 as a migrant worker when moved to California, he was very gifted in leading, joined the navy WW II, then came back to migrant camps thinking only of racism, that’s what made him lead the first farm workers union in American history for a whopping thirty-years.

Have you ever met someone who has made a huge change in your life? Well I haven’t but I know one and that Cesar Chavez. Cesar Chavez was a farm worker, who made a change to migrant worker. Chavez also did a fast to change migrant rights. Some of Cesar Chavez historical significance is his family and him, whom became migrant works. Studied teaching of Catholic Church, did a fast that helped migrant workers. Also helped his family, Even though he went to jail.
Cesar Chavez was a strong person. He was born 192 March 31, near Yuma, Arizona. Cesar Chavez ended his childhood at age 14 after he quiet school. Cesar Chaves became a young migrant farm worker that worked full time to support his family.
When he got too been an adult his life became very interesting and hard. He was a migrant worker. Cesar Chavez was studying the social teaching of Catholic Church. At the age of 61, he had a last and longest public fast that had lasted 30 days in Delano, California. He went to jail in Salinas for not fallowing the law.
Three major accomplishments that he really did was success. One was his family something he loved. The second one was he got migrant people decent wages. Third one was giving Mexicans the rights to work.
As we know that Cesar Chavez was a migrant worker who worked hard to support his family and fought for peoples rights. He was willing to make a change and went through rough times that made him even stronger to keep going forward.

As he traveled through the small towns of California, Cesar was getting better and better at organizing people. For over 30 years Cesar lead the lead the first farm workers union in American history.
Cesar was giving out everything he had. He made a 340 mile pilgrimage from Delano to the steps of the state capitol In Sacramento California. He fasts 25 days in phoenix over a just passed Arizona law banning the right of farm workers to strike or boycott. He achieved the rights of the migrant workers.
Cesar Chavez was a very strong person, he fought for what he wanted and accomplished it. He never liked school as a child, but he worked hard as an adult to help out his family. Cesar Chaves was the hero of the migrant farm workers.

Cesar Chavez was born on March 31, 1927. He lived with his parents and siblings on a small farm near Yuma, Arizona. Cesar quit school at 8th grade to help his family in the fields. Cesar and his family move to California in 1939 and they become migrants’ workers.
Cesar discovered that the lowest jobs were given to the minorities. After the war, Cesar returned to his life in the migrants’ camas. In 1948, Cesar married Helen Famela and moved to a migrant shack in Delano, California. They eventually have eight children. Cesar traveled trough the small town of CA, Cesar was getting better and better at organizing people.
Some of the major accomplishments of Cesar Chavez are national farm workers association (AFWA). Cesar organizes 22 CSO chapters across California in the 1950s. At the age 61, Cesar conducts his last and longest-public Fast for 36 days.
Cesar Chavez was an amazing. He helped a lot of farm workers. Cesar Chavez died in Yuma Arizona in 1993 at the age of 66. His funeral was attended by thousands of American hero.

Did you know that like African Americans the latino community had a well known leader that dedicated part of his life towards fighting against unfair working conditions for the farmers and other types of workers?
The person that I’m talking about is Cesar Chavez. Cesar was born on March 31, 1927 when Cesar was a boy his father had a farm which he worked on, but then his father was forced off the farm. That made Cesar’s family migrants. While been migrants Cesar also went to school he made it all the way to the eight grade before he had to leave school to become a full time field worker to help support his family.
After some time when Cesar was an adult he joined the military to serve in World War 2. When Cesar came back from the war he began his work on helping people reach better working conditions. During the time of when he helped people he went on many hunger strikes.
I think that one of his major accomplishment were getting the workers descent wages. A couple of other things that he accomplished were defeating police brutality, and helping some latinos become U.S citizens
In other words I think that Cesar Chavez was a great latino icon that has and always will be looked up to by people. Because he fought to get people descent wages and to overcome police brutality.

Cesar Estrada Chavez was a Mexican American farm worker, labor leader, and civil rights activist who, with Dolores Huerta, co-founded the National Farm Workers Association, which later became the United Farm Workers (UFW)., was born March 31, 1927, on the small farm near Yuma, Arizona that his grandfather homesteaded during the 1880’s. At age 10, life began as a migrant farm worker when his father lost the land during the Depression. These were bitterly poor years for Cesar, his parents, brothers and sisters. Together with thousands of other displaced families, the Chavez family migrated throughout the Southwest, laboring in fields and vineyards. Cesar left school after the eighth grade to help support his family.
Cesar Chavez had a lot of hurdles and he had to work hard in his childhood. He joined the Navy at the age of 17 and served for two years. Later, Chávez described his experience in the military as “the two worst years of my life.” When Chávez returned home from his service in the military, he married his high school sweetheart, Helen Favela. The couple moved to San Jose, California, where they would have eight children.
Cesar helped farm workers a lot. He helped them to get their civil rights. Cesar served as CSO national director in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. But his dream was to create an organization to help farm workers whose suffering he had shared. In 1962, after failing to convince the CSO to commit itself to farm worker organizing, he resigned his paid CSO job, the first regular paying job he had. He moved to Delano, California where he founded the National Farm Workers Association (NFWA).
Chavez did a lot of hunger strikes for boycott and after five long year’s grape boycott was succeeded and farm workers had an increase in their wages. Their lives were better.
Cesar Chavez died on April 23, 1993 in San Luis, Arizona, just a short distance from his birthplace in Yuma. There were over 30,000 people that attended his funeral in the small town of Delano, California where he first planted the seeds of social justice.
