Nelson had became president, now he had a lot that he could do and he saved his country. Nelson had also stopped the apartheid movement, he doesn’t really like the decimation. (4)

I thought of Africa without Nelson Mandela. Africa would still have the apartheid movement going on. The blacks would probley still not be able to vote. Nelson is the one that has changed everyone’s life in Africa. That’s why he is knowledge for all his work to day.

Nelson’s father died when he was just nine years old. He was a hard boy who tended sheep and cattle. He was important be cause his father was a chief.

When Nelson was growing up, he was expelled from school for a student strike. He was also fighting against apartheid. Nelson was treated badly by the whites. He was important because he fought against what he believed in.

Some accomplishments Nelson made are, he won a noble peace awards, became the first black president in South Africa, and won against apartheid laws. Nelson is important because no other African would do the things he would’ve done.

Nelson faced so many challenges in his life. One was the fact that he started off in life very poor. Another was that he did not have a lot of formal education in school. But Nelson was able to overcome all of these challenges by his strong desire to succeed. He was important because he never gave up.

Although Nelson spent 27 years in prison, he still never gave up on his people.

  3. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born in Transkei, South Africa on July 18, 1918. His father was Chief Henry Mandela of the Tembu Tribe. Mandela himself was educated at University College of Fort Hare and the University of Witwatersrand and qualified in law in 1942. He joined the African National Congress in 1944 and was engaged in resistance against the ruling National Party’s apartheid policies after 1948. He went on trial for treason in 1956-1961 and was acquitted in 1961.

After the banning of the ANC in 1960, Nelson Mandela argued for the setting up of a military wing within the ANC. In June 1961, the ANC executive considered his proposal on the use of violent tactics and agreed that those members who wished to involve themselves in Mandela’s campaign would not be stopped from doing so by the ANC. This led to the formation of Umkhonto we Sizwe. Mandela was arrested in 1962 and sentenced to five years’ imprisonment with hard labour. In 1963, when many fellow leaders of the ANC and the Umkhonto we Sizwe were arrested, Mandela was brought to stand trial with them for plotting to overthrow the government by violence. His statement from the dock received considerable international publicity. On June 12, 1964, eight of the accused, including Mandela, were sentenced to life imprisonment. From 1964 to 1982, he was incarcerated at Robben Island Prison, off Cape Town; thereafter, he was at Pollsmoor Prison, nearby on the mainland.

During his years in prison, Nelson Mandela’s reputation grew steadily. He was widely accepted as the most significant black leader in South Africa and became a potent symbol of resistance as the anti-apartheid movement gathered strength. He consistently refused to compromise his political position to obtain his freedom.

Nelson Mandela was released on February 11, 1990. After his release, he plunged himself wholeheartedly into his life’s work, striving to attain the goals he and others had set out almost four decades earlier. In 1991, at the first national conference of the ANC held inside South Africa after the organization had been banned in 1960, Mandela was elected President of the ANC while his lifelong friend and colleague, Oliver Tambo, became the organisation’s National Chairperson.

  4. Nelson Mandela
Mandela went on the run for 17 months and was later incarcerated for 27 years the following essay is going to be about his childhood challenges, and accomplishments. Without Mandela we would still be fighting apartheid in South Africa.
Nelson Mandela had a real tough childhood. During the childhood of Rolihlahla (means someone who seem to brings troble to whom slef) father died when he was only nine years old. When Rolihlahla attended school his teacher changed his name to Nelson a couple more years down the road Nelson Mandela Escaped an arranged marriage and moved to johannesburg.
Mr. Mandela had an even rougher life down the road. When his father died he had to stay with his uncle. Nelson was chased by the government and went on the run for months. Eventually he was arrested and sentenced to life in prison. The first couple of years in prison he stayed in a 7 by 7 foot room “which is hard for a 6’3 man to live in a little room with just a bed in a blanket”.
Throughout his life Nelson Mandela had great accomplishments. During his incarciration the A.N.C became legal and it was because they fought harder when the was arrested. After the 27yrs he was released and eventually became president.
Throught the hardtimes of Nelson Mandela’s life he still accomplished Great things and was a great man. Without Mandela we don’t know what could be happening in South Africa. Sincerly; Michael Hall II

  5. Nelson Mandela
Once, there was a man that made a very important and big change. His name is Nelson Mandela. I’m going to tell you about parts of his life time. If it wasn’t for this man, there would still be people suffering.

His childhood was really rough and also some parts of his childhood was happy. He was a herd boy that learned to love sheep and cattle. His father died when he was nine years old. Nelson continued his education when he was 16 years old, unlike typical South Africans. These facts were found in Mandela Data sets l and ll.

The challenges Mandela faced were really hard for him. In 1962, he was arrested, sentenced for 5 years. Then in 1963, he was charged again while he was charged already, for sabotage, and sentenced to 27 years for life. Him and other blacks had to give up dreams. The apartheid laws limited Nelson’s ways he could earn his living, and the type of life he could lead. Also blacks farming collapsed. I found these reasons in also Mandela Data Set l and ll.

Although Nelson Mandela faced so many challenges, he had made god accomplishments. In 1993, him and de Clerk were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. In 1942, Nelson earned his college degree. In 1994, Mandela was elected president of South Africa and ended the apartheid laws. I found these reasons in both Mandela Data sets l and ll, and the make n’ break.

Nelson Mandela is a very important person that lots of blacks remember. If it wasn’t for Mandela, people wouldn’t be having at least just better lives that they have now, also there would still be a lot of hatred. From my opinion, I think if it wasn’t for Nelson Mandela’s hard work, there would still be the apartheid laws.
