Below are two activities where you have to read and listen to information and solve a medical mystery. You will do these activities for 20 minutes:

• The Blackout Syndrome : Solve a medical mystery
• “Two Forks, Idaho” – Begin the Mystery

If the rain forests (like the Amazon) are important for medicine, what do you think will happen if the rain forest disappear or become much smaller than they are today?

Why is it dangerous to use antibiotics too much? What happens if you take antibiotics when you are sick with a virus (which they can’t cure) instead of a bacterial infection (which they can cure)?

This week we will be learning about the importance of rain forest for medicines we need and use. After watching a video on this topic, do this activity, then share what you have learned about this subject.
