A class of fourth graders in Sparks, Nevada will be sending up a high altitude balloon with messages of hope on Thursday May 27th. What is a message of hope?

Something you think our community (Oak Park) needs;
Something that you think would improve our school;
Something that would make the world a better place;

Most African Americans had a different experience coming to America. They did not come voluntarily, but were forced to come as slaves. Once they were here, most lived in the Southern United States, where slavery was legal. As time passed after the end of slavery, more and more made their way north and west, to places like Sacramento. Learn about this history, by going to these sites:
