The magical reading lens is the one I understand the most and catches my interest because the magical reading lens talks about conflict, realism and fantasy combined.

The critical reading lens i understand best, is archetypal criticism, because it is intriguing how every story is related but similar at the same time. I would be looking for the protagonist, the antagonist, and whats the problem in the story. I would also need to locate the resolution.

The critical reading theory that I prefer is Formalist Criticism. I myself like to break down the text into sections, to fully understand what the story is saying.

I understand the Id, Ego and Super ego criticism the best and I also like Jung-Archetypes criticism. By looking through the id, ego and superego lens I going to understand the character’s mental thoughts, and personality.

    Psychoanalytical Criticism

You are looking for the emotional aspect to the piece of work, you are looking into the authors mind and their feelings.

    an careful readers.

  14. September 11th, 2017 at 9:05 am      Reply Fernando Llanito Says:

the critical reading lens that I understand the most is the reader response lens, i also understand the gender criticism but it will be a little difficult because I’m not a woman to express what an actual woman will be related to poems or other readings. Also, what I’m looking forward through the reader response lense is finding connections with authors, poems and other readings.

  15. September 11th, 2017 at 9:05 am      Reply Andrew Ortega Says:

My top two favorite critical reading lenses would have to be Archetypical and Magical. They both just really catch my interest, Archetypical talks about hell and dark stuff, that kind of stuff really makes me want to read more. Magical talks about two conflicting perspectives and most of the shows I enjoy are like that.

  17. September 11th, 2017 at 9:04 am      Reply Fernando Aguirre Says:

The critical reading lens that best stood out towards me were the ideas of,”The ID,ego, and super ego” and feminism” the idea of the id brings this whole perspective of how they correlate towards how we develop our personality. What i am expecting from this is a sense of reassurance from society .

My first choice to practice is the ID, Ego and Superego; my second would be Marxist criticism.
